News 27/01/2025 GOETZE supports successful launch of the WARR EX-4B rocket at EuRoC 2024

The student workgroup for rocketry and spaceflight (WARR) at the Technical University of Munich celebrated a historic success at the European rocketry competition EuRoC 2024 in Portugal.

At the European rocketry competition EuRoC 2024, the team from the Scientific Working Group for Rocketry and Space Flight (WARR) at the Technical University of Munich achieved a milestone: the successful launch of the EX-4B rocket – the first European student rocket with a cryogenic oxidiser system (liquid oxygen).

One crucial factor in its success was the GOETZE safety valve 492, which reliably ensured pressure control in the tanks. Precision was crucial here, especially during refuelling, where the valve reacted precisely in an overpressure situation, thus enabling the launch.

Technical details of the EX-4B rocket:

  • Biliquid system with ethanol and liquid oxygen.
  • Precise pressure control using nitrogen (60 bar).
  • Safe pressure relief using GOETZE safety valves.

The project has received numerous awards, including the Team Award and the L3 Award (3 km category).
