News 01/09/2026Successful KR approval for safety valves in LNG applications
Goetze safety valves have been successfully approved by the Korean Register (KR) for use in a cryogenic LNG application. The testing was carried out as part of an LNG terminal project in Korea.

The Korean Register is an internationally active classification society and a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). KR approvals / inspections are particularly important for maritime installations, as well as for international shipbuilding and LNG projects.
Safety valves were installed in various parts of the plant for this project:
- Series 2400 for LNG pipelines
- Series 492 for an LNG pump operating at a pressure of 350 bar
- Series 455 in DN 100 for the fire protection design of the entire plant
The valves underwent individual approvals / inspections by KR as well as cryogenic testing. This demonstrated their suitability for the requirements in each case in the low-temperature range.
This successful approval expands the range of applications for Goetze safety valves in international LNG and marine projects.
