Compact, efficient and safe. The PIONYR hydrogen compressor - equipped with GOETZE safety valves.
The innovative start-up REJOOL, based in North Hessen, has been passionately dedicated to the development of hydrogen compression technology since its foundation in February 2022.
The name REJOOL is derived from ‘Renewable’ and ‘Joule’, which underlines the company's focus on sustainable energy solutions. The focus is on small, decentralised stationary applications, for example in the building sector. At the centre of its product line is the PIONYR hydrogen compressor, a prime example of compactness, efficiency and safety.
Goetze is also your partner for safety here.
In the world of technical gases, and particularly when it comes to handling hydrogen, safety is of the utmost importance. GOETZE has taken on this challenge by integrating two of its stainless steel safety valves into the PIONYR hydrogen compressor. These safety valves are specially designed to meet the high safety requirements and technical specifications of hydrogen applications.
Compressed hydrogen as an energy carrierOutstanding technology for a wide range of applications
The hermetic PIONYR hydrogen compressor represents a significant advance in compression technology. It enables the compression of hydrogen produced from renewable sources up to 300 bar. Thanks to a separate, efficient air cooling system, inlet pressures of 20-40 bar can be achieved.
With a displacement that can be adjusted depending on the input pressure and engine speed, the compressor is suitable for a wide range of applications – from research and laboratories to decentralised energy supply for single- and multi-family homes, commercial applications and backup power supply.

Technical specifications of the hydrogen compressor
The REJOOL compressor is a dry piston compressor that is hermetically sealed and electrically driven. Some of the technical features are:
Compact: The compressor was developed with the goal of being as small as possible. It is ideal for stationary applications in single-family homes and other smaller decentralised units. Its compact size makes it easy to transport, install and maintain.
Dry-running piston compressor: The compressor runs completely dry, which means that any leaks during the compression process are safely directed into the body and returned to the first compression stage.
Electric drive: The compressor is driven by a special electric motor that ensures efficient and reliable performance.
Flow rate: REJOOL's hydrogen compressor can compress between 1 and 5 standard cubic metres per hour, making it ideal for small to medium-sized applications.
The challenge of hydrogenGOETZE safety valves successfully in use
GOETZE safety valves not only protect the compressor from overpressure, but also contribute significantly to the operational safety and longevity of the system. These valves are the result of decades of experience and innovation in the field of pressure relief technology, making them the optimal choice for use in hydrogen compressors.
The following Goetze safety valves are used in the REJOOL hydrogen compressor:
Series 492: Specially designed for high-pressure compressors, process plants and refuelling systems, this valve can secure pressure ranges up to 1500 bar. Its unique technical construction and the use of high-quality materials guarantee outstanding sealing and reliability, even when repeatedly stressed. Its compact design and rotatable outlet hood offer flexible installation and maintenance.
Series 420: GOETZE offers this TÜV-certified miniature safety valve, which has been specially designed for low pressures and low volume flows, for use in hydrogen technologies. This valve ensures reliable protection for systems in this sensitive area.
REJOOL's hydrogen compressor provides a compact, efficient and safe solution for decentralised hydrogen compression. With the integration of high-quality safety valves from Goetze KG, it offers reliable performance and maximum safety.
