News 17/09/2026New stainless steel steam pressure regulator for steam and hot water up to 200 °C

With the 486 series, we are expanding our range to include a piston-operated stainless steel pressure reducing valve for steam and hot water up to +200 °C. A particular advantage is that the entire valve insert can be replaced without removing the body from the pipework.

The piston-operated pressure reducing valve is sized for media temperatures ranging from +20 °C to +200 °C and inlet pressures of up to 16 bar. Depending on the model, back pressure ranges of 1.5 to 5 bar or 4.5 to 10 bar are available.

For steam and hot water up to 200 °C

The 486 series is suitable for steam, hot water, liquids, as well as air, gases and vapours. With a temperature range up to +200 °C, it is specifically sized for demanding industrial applications and processes involving high media temperatures.

Typical areas of application include:

  • Steam generators
  • Food and drink industry
  • Paper and packaging industry
  • Autoclaves and sterilisation systems
  • Pasteurisation
  • Distillation
  • Drying processes
  • Laundries and textile applications

This makes the pressure reducing valve suitable for a wide range of industrial applications in which a higher inlet pressure needs to be reliably reduced to a lower Outlet pressure.

Replaceable valve insert for easy servicing

A particular advantage is the stainless steel valve insert. This is available as a spare part and can be replaced without removing the body from the pipework. This simplifies servicing and maintenance work, particularly in the case of permanently installed steam and process pipework.

Stainless steel construction and flexible connection options

The inlet and outlet bodies are made of stainless steel 1.4408. The internal parts are also made of stainless steel. We supply the pressure reducing valve in DN 15 to DN 32 or connection sizes ranging from 1/2‘ to 1 1/4’. Depending on the version, male threads, female threads or flange connections are available.

Also suitable for sensitive process areas

For applications in the food and drink industry, for example, the series offers further relevant features: The seals in contact with the medium are FDA-compliant and comply with EC Regulation No 1935/2004.

The relevant model for your application

Which version is the right one depends, amongst other things, on the medium, the Inlet pressure, the required Outlet pressure and the required flow rate. Performance diagrams are available for the 486 series to assist with sizing.
