Fire-safe certified. Cryogenically tested. Safe in an emergency. The new safety class among shut-off valves
With the 2141 shut-off valve, GOETZE presents a solution for safety-critical applications in which both cryogenic temperatures and fire loads must be reliably controlled.
The stainless steel valve operates just as reliably at –196°C as it does during and after a 30-minute fire with temperatures of up to 1000°C.
Maximum safety – tested according to the latest standards
A unique selling point of the new 2141 cryogenic shut-off valve is its certification to ISO 10497:2024 and API 607, 8th Edition – the internationally recognized test standards for fire safety. These approvals ensure that the shut-off valve is fire-safe and will function reliably under fire conditions.
Tougher tested, more clearly defined, uncompromisingly safe. Why the new certification makes a difference.
The 2141 shut-off valve meets the highest fire safety requirements worldwide. GOETZE thus fully complies with not only current but also future safety standards:
- ISO 10497:2024 describes the test procedure in which the valve is exposed to temperatures of up to 1000°C for 30 minutes, including subsequent forced cooling, leak testing, and functional testing.
- API 607 (8th edition) specifies strict criteria for leak assessment during and after a fire.
- The fire safety test for the 2141 shut-off valve was carried out in a renowned test laboratory under the strict supervision of TÜV and confirmed with certificates.
The fire-safe test is not only a quality feature, but above all a safety feature for plant operators: even if a fire breaks out, the valve remains tight and can be operated later.
