Notícias 05/10/2026GOETZE on a hydrogen delegation tour of the Baltic states

From 28 September to 2 October 2026, GOETZE took part in a German delegation trip to Lithuania and Estonia. The focus was on current projects relating to the production of green hydrogen, professional exchanges and establishing new business contacts.

Under the motto “German technologies for the early-stage development of green hydrogen in the Baltic States”, our colleagues Teodor Georgiev and Piotr Kijowski travelled to Vilnius and Tallinn. The trip was organised by energiewaechter GmbH in collaboration with the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK Baltikum).

Lithuania: Hydrogen projects and plant construction

  • The event kicked off with a specialist conference on 29 September in Vilnius, attended by around 50 participants from the worlds of business, politics and academia. GOETZE presented the company and used the subsequent B2B discussions to exchange technical expertise.
  • During a visit to the district heating company Miesto Gijos our colleagues gained insights into a hydrogen project featuring a 3 MW electrolysis plant. According to the plans presented, this is set to supply green hydrogen for city buses in Vilnius from the end of 2026.
  • Another visit took us to MT Group, a Lithuanian plant engineering company which, amongst other things, built the electrolysis plant for Miesto Gijos.

Estonia: Exchange with hydrogen companies

On 1 October, the trip continued in Tallinn. At an executive roundtable, representatives from the worlds of politics and business discussed the development of the hydrogen economy in Estonia. This was followed by B2B meetings and a visit to Utilitas. The district heating company operates a 1-MW plant in Tallinn for the production of green hydrogen.

On the final day of the trip, our colleagues visited two more technology companies:

  • Elcogen AS, a manufacturer of solid oxide cells, stacks and modules for fuel cell and electrolysis applications.
  • OÜ Stargate Hydrogen Solutions, an Estonian company that develops electrolysis technologies.

Valuable insights for GOETZE

The delegation trip gave GOETZE the opportunity to learn about current hydrogen projects, establish contacts with international companies and discuss technological developments.

We would like to thank the AHK Baltikum, energiewaechter GmbH and all the companies involved for organising the trip and for the interesting discussions.
