News 16/07/2025Fire Safe shut-off valve 2141: Stainless steel valve for extreme, cryogenic temperatures
GOETZE is launching the shut-off valve 2141, a stainless steel valve that is fire-safe tested (ISO 10497:2024 & API 607, 8th ed.) and suitable for cryogenic applications down to –196 °C – ideal for cryogenic (liquefied) gases.

The new 2141 Fire-Safe shut-off valve – Safe in an emergency
With the 2141 shut-off valve, GOETZE is expanding its portfolio with a technically outstanding solution for extreme operating conditions: a stainless steel shut-off valve that has been specially developed for use in cryogenic applications and in safety-critical systems with flammable or fire-accelerating media.
Why the new certification makes a difference
Compared to the previous API 607 (7th edition), the requirements in the current 8th edition have been significantly tightened:
- Stricter leakage limits, especially for gaseous media – greater safety for flammable cryogenically liquefied gases.
- Realistic post-fire testing – the valve must be able to close again and remain tight.
- More precise temperature monitoring with at least six thermocouples on critical components.
- Standardised test reports for better comparability and complete documentation.
- Testing of all safety-relevant components – including seals, attachments and housing connections in the fire area.
- These improvements make the GOETZE 2141 shut-off valve one of the most technically safe solutions on the market – ideal for applications where every detail counts in an emergency.
Cryogenic applications for deep-cold (liquefied) gases
The GOETZE 2141 shut-off valve is the ideal choice for:
- Industrial and energy engineering systems
- Tanks and cryogenic systems
- Systems in hazardous areas – with flammable or fire-accelerating media
- Biogas plants, power-to-gas
- Gas filling stations
Thanks to its stainless steel construction, modular design and secondary seal, the valve combines high operational reliability with long-term ease of maintenance.
