News 08/14/2024 German valve technology meets Asian expertise: Technical training courses in Asia attract numerous petrochemical experts

Goetze KG Armaturen recently held two extremely successful customer seminars in Asia. These took place in Thailand with our partner Flow Fusion and in Malaysia with GATI. Both events were also attended by the renowned company Braunschweiger Flammenfilter, which specializes in the manufacture of tank valves, flame filters and equipment for various industries and sells them under the name Protego.

Goal of the seminars
The goal of the seminars was to provide the participating engineers with in-depth knowledge about valve technology “Made in Germany”. These were not marketing or advertising events, but intensive technical training sessions.

Participants and focal points
A total of 154 experts from the petrochemical industry, particularly from the oil and gas business, took part in the seminars. In Thailand, there were 98 participants, including representatives from PTT and companies such as BASF, Thyssen Krupp and Bangkok Industrial Gas (BIG). In Malaysia, there were 56 participants, including representatives from Petronas and Parc Malaysia. These seminars provided an ideal platform for engineers to learn about the latest developments and technical standards in valve technology.

Technical content and discussions
One focus of the training sessions was on the sizing of safety valves and the differences between various international standards, in particular the European ISO 4126 and the American ASME and API standards.

The participants asked numerous complex questions about the function and sizing of our products. The comparability and compatibility of valves from different standards and sizing in the event of fire were discussed in particular detail. It was clearly demonstrated that ASME and ISO valves can also be used as long as the connection dimensions are suitable.

Challenges and innovative solutions
One of the outstanding benefits of the seminars was that we were able to demonstrate our ability to design more compact valves that still deliver the same performance as larger API valves. This offers significant advantages in terms of installation and material costs.

Our customer seminars in Thailand and Malaysia were a great success. They provided a valuable opportunity for the exchange of technical knowledge and practical experience. Participants gained in-depth insights into valve technology and its application in various industries.
